· Watch for glazing and treacherous travel conditions for a time this morning before warmer air changes freezing rain to rain, and ground temperatures also warm up above freezing late morning into the afternoon.

· Conditions for tonight and into the rest of the week not so bad for travel, as temperatures make moderate upward with no cold ground or icing conditions.

· Busses for many school districts running should be ready with chains as back gravel roads will be rather icy for a while.

· No replacement snows foreseen for a while until we see colder weather return next week, but there are two more significant rainstorms ahead – the next one Wednesday afternoon/night, and third next Monday.

· Monday’s system looks moderate to heavy and may include strong gusty winds along the western slopes.

Updated Monday morning Forecast & WX Notes — November 28th, 2016

· Enjoy today…because tomorrow morning may end up being a white knuckle commute in the morning as a period of sleet and freezing rain may (sub-freezing ground temps) were likely to impede travel making it extremely icy and slippery especially east of the Green Mountains.

· This will change as ground and air temps gradually rise in the afternoon Tuesday.

· Rain ends as few leftover sprinkles Tuesday night.

· A duplicate storm system to bring another round of rain mid week. Temperatures at that point to be above normal and not sub-freezing with about .50 to .75” of rainfall. We can certainly use it as this will definitely help raise water tables without frozen ground mid week.

· Colder air aloft works in with valley sprinkles and wet snow flakes in the mountains but no real replacement snows in the offing for western New England while Maine could see significant accumulations of snow. Maine resorts could be seeing jackpot snows of foot and half for next weekend.

· Minutia in precipitation today, tonight, Saturday and lingering into Sunday.

· Roadster’s may encounter patches of black ice today through about 10 AM. More slick travel tomorrow and beyond in the morning primarily.

· Afternoon likely your safest travel – but even here you may encounter issues higher elevations with temperatures not too far from the freezing mark Saturday and Sunday.

· More issues next week as jet streams energy brings not one but two potential Rain events. As we know rain = ice. Lots of the snow currently in the lowers elevations to melt out pretty quickly next week.

· Sorry winter sports enthusiast’s (like myself) it will suck as “REPLACEMENT SNOWS” greater than 2” only highest peaks seen for the next 7 days – Too Warm! My Winter forecast — White Thanksgiving, then oscillation warm cold, warm cold, remains absolutely perfect and I will crow!

· Light wet snowfall moves in starting mid to late morning with about ½ inch to an inch accumulation make roads greasy, slushy for travel today.

· There is a lull in the precipitation for about 2 hours sometime between 3 Pm and 6 PM then snow showers/light snow resumes tonight with another ½ to about an inch with temperatures near 32 degrees.

· Lower valley areas Champlain, Connecticut like to just get bare and wet roads, but slightly elevated valleys to see a little more and likely slushy travel.

· Light intermittent snows will mix with freezing rain, rain and sleet overnight and into the day tomorrow with more travel headaches, but precipitation again to be very light.

· This off and on light snowfall will continue through this weekend especially upper elevations as temperatures may warm up sufficiently to not stick in the lowest valleys.

· Watch it this morning…travel should improve for the late morning and afternoon as there has continued to be some snow accumulation and reports of freezing drizzle and some minor glazing making for mid winter like issues.

· A weak weather system a warm front will track into Vermont about mid to late morning spreading a period of light accumulation snow Turkey Day. Travel was likely to get slippery based on temperatures in that range of 32 to 35 degrees – so heads up!

· Nearly every day to follow to feature some light coatings of snow or spotty mixed precipitation including freezing rain and drizzle going into the weekend.

· Afternoon likely best travel as temperatures to moderate into the mid 30s to low 40s this weekend.

· Still looking at a moderation in temperatures next week, and perhaps mixed precip and gusty southeasterly winds going to rain Wednesday.

· Unknown as to why we have seen some trouble with Headlines titles and nothing else posting.
