· Today and Saturday – par excellence in Weather with temperatures running about 8 to 15 degrees above seasonal normal’s slightly warmer Saturday.
· Major weather changes thereafter with a rain to wet snow transition beginning overnight Saturday night and into Sunday. By Sunday afternoon/evening it should accumulating down to valley floors with a greasy/icy Monday morning commute!
· Temperatures more like late December will bring us winter travel issues early next week, with a break in the action for WEDNESDAY, as a ridge of higher pressure crosses overhead. THIS IS LIKELY YOU BEST TRAVEL DAY!
· THANKSGIVING — some minor snow showers/spotty mixed precip could also hamper travel.
· IS THIS WINTER FROM HERE INTO CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY? So-So… likely some warm ups with more of an oscillation between warm and cold. Jet stream energy will be La Nina like with a storm track near or north of the Canadian border bring both warm and cold phases as storm systems pass through this melts snow and brings = ICE.

Updated Thursday morning forecast & WX Notes — November 17th, 2016
· Transitions today with lots of clouds hanging tough near the mountains, but a dry day. Clouds on the wane tonight, leads to two exceptionally fine November Days tomorrow and Saturday.
· Sunday will bring more much needed rainfall generally a third to half inch just ahead of a changeover to frozen precipitation types…slick travel as minor coatings of snow look to affect the region Sunday night into Tuesday.
· Have the coat, parka gloves ready to go with a big change toward Reality and colder conditions.
· Travel ahead of Thanksgiving Holiday will be affected. Some very heavy Lake Effect snows were in order across many of the regions immediately east and southeast of the Great Lakes, however slightly elevated across higher terrain as opposed to right at lake shores.
· Tug Hill Plateau likely better than 1 foot, but locally before Thanksgiving greater than 6” amounts across the Green Mountain summits.

· Scattered sprinkles or light rain showers will still hang around today especially toward the Champlain Valley and northern higher terrain.
· Improvement tonight and tomorrow with 50/50 cloudiness and warming trend going into Saturday with two gorgeous days ahead Friday and Saturday with highs in the 50s…maybe pushing 60.
· Transitions toward late Autumn weather Sunday, and perhaps a more wintery scenario early to mid next week likely to affect travel especially in the interior areas and Great Lakes.
· Get ready for HUGE Lake Effect opportunity — Tug Hill, Buffalo, Erie, for Vermont just scraps that make it east as mainly “teasers” but not conventional snowfalls.
