· Conditions much less wild today but still blustery with westerly winds blowing in incrementally cooler to colder air.
· We’ll see periodic snow shower/rain shower episodes over the next couple of days trending colder will mean snow levels drop closer if not onto valley floor elevations.
· The worst of this appears to be tomorrow night where a dusting to a couple of inches will fall especially east of the Green Mountains – so heads up for Saturday morning travel.
· Colder weather lands on Sunday into Tuesday next week. A change in the forecast now noted for Monday. A weak warm front could deliver a dusting to an inch of snowfall (wet banana peel slickness) in spots Monday.
· Another big rain and likely windstorm arrives later in the week next week with another warm up. This could also have icing on the front end. It was way too soon to detail out just yet.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy northern areas. Intervals of sun mixed with clouds otherwise Barre-Montpelier area and points south. Widely scattered sprinkles mixed with wet snow flakes in the mountains late today. A high in the mid to upper 40s. Winds becoming westerly 10 to 20 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy. A few isolated showers or sprinkles mixed with a few wet snow in the higher terrain but little accumulation if any. A low 32 to 35. Light southwest winds.
FRIDAY: Cloudy northern areas with intervals of sunshine south. Scattered wet snow showers high terrain mixed with rain valley floors. A high 40 to 45. Southwest winds 10 mph.
