· Dry snowfall for the most part with folks behaving on area roadways through this morning not much of a big deal and more or less run-of the-mill.

· Conditions this afternoon improve dramatically with bare and wet roads as highs get into the mid and upper 30s warmest Champlain Valley.

· Snow showers return to especially the northern Green Mountains tonight with some additional accumulations and temps drop into the teens and 20s.

· Off and on intermittent flurry, snow shower activity returns Tuesday night/Wednesday and Thursday a bigger shot of colder air to squeeze out the flurry activity…maybe a snow squall.

· Arctic chill moves in for Friday with blue skies/bright sun.

· As colder air and a trajectory more from the north-northwest takes hold, we’ll see less and less snow shower activity and more likely flurries going into the early evening hours.

· Away from the mountains will be intervals of sunshine especially central and southern Vermont. Clouds will hang tough near the central and northern Green Mountains where some minor lake effect from Lake Champlain will blow down the I-89 corridor at times creating the locally heavier snow showers- so heads up.

· The snow falling is much lighter and more easily blown around, this too may impact travel at t9imes with blowing and drifting and reduced visibility – but not likely to be very bad.

· A cold weekend ahead with nighttime low flirting with zero degrees but daytime temps mostly stay in the 20s.

· Our next weather maker arrives Sunday night/Monday morning with snow coated roads and perhaps snowfall rates that may approach 1” per hour for short period of time so be ready for slick travel.

· Lake Effect band downwind of Lake Ontario was making inroads crossing the Adirondacks and into Vermont this morning.

· Elevations generally above 1000 to 1500 ft may see a little accumulation with higher summits receiving 1 to 2” maybe even more.

· Snow shower/flurry chatter box will continue finally dying out Friday afternoon as the flow turns to become more northwesterly.

· Colder air will invade for the weekend sending overnight lows down to around and a little below zero degrees.

· Expect more of the same going into next week. Modeling backing off bigger precipitation makers instead leaving more minor accumulation events of all snow at least through mid week next week.

· Slippery travel to improve as temperatures break the freezing mark later this morning with bare and wet roads for the afternoon.

· No travel issues expected tonight – always be prepared for black ice –

· Colder air sweeping across the relatively warm water of the Great Lakes will make for huge lake effect snows across New York state.

· A streamer of snow will track east-northeast of Lake Ontario and tickle the northern Champlain Valley, but most especially the northern 1/5th of the Green Mountains around Jay Peak and eventually toward Mt. Mansfield before falling apart Thursday afternoon.

· We’ll likely see more lake effect enhancement to a weak frontal system that tracks through on Friday.

· Colder weather blows in for the weekend – with some exceptionally colder nights flirting with zero.
