Updated Monday morning Forecast & WX Notes — December 5ht, 2016

· Snow coated road ways with arrival of snow overspreading the region quickly will mean slow going this morning – leave a little early to get to your destination.

· This snowfall good for about 1 to locally 3” amounts by mid afternoon before snows wind down to light flurries. Temperatures will also reach into the low and mid 30s…melting back some of that in the lower valley elevations.

· Break in our weather Tuesday for a decent day – with some sunshine through increasing and thickening high clouds.

· Watch it Wednesday morning commute could also see a light coating of snow but likely not as much as what we’re seeing Monday.

· Colder and nuisance snow showers/flurry activity will remain the rest of this week.

· It was looking like a robust warm onslaught was to bring marginal mixed precip and that has since been erased with occasional snow showers flurries going into the weekend with a colder shot of modified arctic air blowing in.

· We might be entering a period of more or less “real Vermont winter weather” finally – but those conditions were likely to change later this month as well.

TODAY: Gray. Periods of mostly light accumulating snow arriving through the morning commute, winding down later this afternoon as flurries. Total accumulations 1 to locally 3”. A high in the low 30s. South winds 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Chance for a an evening flurry. Otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. A low around 30. Light northwest winds.

TUESDAY: Some morning sunshine becoming filtered through increasing high clouds. A high 35 to 40. Light north wind.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Thickening clouds leading to periods of light snow arriving toward daybreak. A low in the mid to upper 20s.

WEDNESDAY: Gray skies with a period of light snow accumulation in the morning. Maybe a mountain flurry otherwise for the afternoon. A high in the mid to upper 30s.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance for accumulating snow showers mainly in the morning. A low in the upper teens to around 20. A high 32 to 35.

FRIDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy. Chance for snow showers or flurries. Colder. A low in the upper teens. A high in the mid 20s.
