Updated Tuesday Morning forecast & Weather Summary — July 5th, 2016

· Just enough instability across portions of southern Vermont today to pop an isolated brief and weak thundershower Rutland and Windsor counties south and most likely near the S. Green Mountains.

· Otherwise stupendous with warm to hot weather today though lowered humidity levels compared to what we’ll start to see late Wednesday into the day Thursday which looks stiflingly sticky.

· You should have excellent weather for outdoor activities but watch for those thunderheads you S. Vermonters this afternoon, and practice lighting safety if need be.

· Hottest weather Wednesday into Thursday before a cool front displaces the most humid conditions triggering a round or two of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Gardeners…not expecting enough precip to help you out so you’ll need to water.

· Signs emerging for a rather gloomy cooler and wet weekend…so take advantage when you can.

Updated Friday morning Forecast & Weather Summary — July 1st, 2016

Great weather for the first ¾ of Friday but…thunderstorms will bang through in quick fashion so if you are on the lake today, on mountain tops you really need to head for shore, down the mountain as thunderstorms will be moving in quickly I’d plan to be out of there no later than 2 or 3 PM.

Storms will develop across New York state and rapidly tap into increasingly humid conditions and produce scattered strong thunderstorms with lots of lighting, small hail, briefly heavy rainfall (possible flooding in those area that experienced heavy rainfall Tuesday and Wednesday.

The main action peak late today into the evening and then exit with scattered leftover rain showers into the night and during the day Saturday.

Cooler Canadian air blowing in on gusty northwesterly winds will also keep temperatures suppressed in the upper 60s to lower 70s – so coolish Saturday with a few mountain sprinkle likely.

Rest of 4th of July Weekend – Looking really good. Other than a few sprinkle northern border areas Sunday afternoon, predominant sunshine and a warming trend through the rest of the weekend into the middle part of next week – and this comes with low to moderate humidity levels. – Enjoy

Gardeners and Farmers will need to irrigate or water after the main event tonight…

Updated Wednesday morning Forecast & Weather Summary — June 29th, 2016

· More Thunderstorms but more scattered in nature today as an mid and upper level low pressure system with colder air aloft makes things unstable with any sunshine contributing to surface heating.

· The more clouds we have the less the chance for thunderstorm activity. Modeling indicates most sunshine in the valleys especially Connecticut River valley and also Champlain Valley but best conditions to support strongest storms will be toward the northern and eastern part of the state.

· Excellent conditions develop rapidly this early evening with clearing and an excellent day Thursday with dry weather and tons of sunshine.

· Friday has a few issues late in the day where increasing clouds, showers, and few New York thunderstorms arrive from the west. But most of the day should be dry.

· Saturday morning showers abate with sunny intervals in the PM, Sunday might see a few northern mountain sprinkles but not enough to mess up Sunday.

· Monday 4th of July – looking good.
