Updated Friday morning Forecast & Weather Notes– July 8th, 2016

· Fragile forecast this morning with not all modeling on board for a perfectly dry Friday – However conditions appear to hold out per some of the more trusted modeling for today with a weak bubble of fair weather high pressure.

· Toward midnight tonight — the Rains and embedded storms “cometh” and lightning and thunder to be mixed in overnight with some heavier showers also to drench the region.

· This is in part due to a pretty anomalously strong low pressure system for this period of “High Summer” with climatological departure happening once every 30 years in terms of how deep the low pressure system will be.

· Thus the results with lots lifting mechanisms to support plenty of rain/frequent showers with the occasional clap of thunder through the entire weekend – makes this not quite a complete washout.

· Additionally, Lower freezing levels, and what meteorologist call lower “wet bulb zero” may also indicate some of these storms may include hail as this fairly impressive storm system.

· Total rainfall from Midnight tonight through Midnight Sunday night about ¾” eastern Vermont to 2.2” Green Mountains and western side of the state.

SUNDAY: Considerable cloudiness. A good chance for showers with a risk for thunder…some heavy at times. A high 65 to 70. (2)
