· Showers and thunderstorms arrive today with increasingly humid and hot conditions for this afternoon.

· A wave of weakening showers and isolated thunderstorms in the Saint Lawrence valley should mostly die out but push clouds with a threatening look across the region but this will be a false flag or sorts.

· The main event will develop across New York and adjacent Canada and track into Vermont later on this afternoon. These storms will be strong to potentially severe though less in number than our last go around Saturday.

· The most concentration appears to be northern tier and western Vermont locations, with possibly a cluster of storms near Bennington County.

· Warm to hot, and stiflingly humid today as dew points rise toward 70 degrees this afternoon and evening.

· A stable layer of air will allow our region to “cook” with highs approaching 90 – but that’s nothing comparing to the large extended heat wave to our south and west. Where day after day heat indices will be extreme and already there’s been some fatalities due to heat exposure.

· Climate change modeling has been showing for decade or two that this would become more the norm for years to come.

· In New England, not quite so severe but showers and thunderstorms should erupt later this afternoon and become more numerous this evening and tonight. Boomer may be going well into the early AM hours.

· More showers/thunderstorms Saturday eventually winding down in the evening as cooler less humid air works in for Sunday the pick of this weekend.

· A nice warm midsummer day today where highs should be in the mid 80s across the normally cooler areas of N. Vermont but pushing close to 90 in the warmer confines of the Ct. River valley and Champlain Valley.

· Humidity levels will on the rise with dew points by tomorrow morning pushing past 65 degrees. We might see a run to near 70 degrees dew points and steamy conditions late Friday afternoon.

· Some jet stream energy makes its way slowly through the day Friday which should set off widely scattered strong to severe thunderstorm activity after two separate impulses work through the region, one dying out in the morning another inbound.

· This may keep storms going especially in northern and western Vermont through much of Friday night and into the day on Saturday.

· Sunday is the pick of this weekend! Blue sky and bright sun moderately warm – great day and evening opportunity for the out of doors.
