Updated Tuesday morning Forecast & Weather Notes — September 20th, 2016

· We are into “Meteorological Autumn” now even though Astronomical Autumn does not start until Thursday at 10:21 AM which is a “level Earth” as the earth wobbles’ with a developing tilt in the S. hemisphere.

· Temperature to remain more summer like than Fall-like with highs today easily seeing 80 degrees in many area. Areas that hold on longest to low clouds and …and along the northern tier areas of Vermont will see the coolest temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.

· Thursday – temp. levels heat up again back closer to near 80.

· A marked cooling trend settles in especially Friday over the weekend for temps that will only top out into the 50s by Sunday and Monday but step ladder back into the 60s much of next week.

· Gardeners and Farmers should take note of the possibility of scattered frost Sunday night into Monday morning.

· This week’s take always include an extension of summer and the same summer dryness.

· Temperatures will be well above seasonal normal’s as those temperatures are now in the 60s and dropping.

· This week’s most inclement weather will be the rest of this morning and again possibly on Friday with a cold frontal system sagging south to end the work week.

· We could really use more rain of course…putting barely a dent in the absence of rainfall but we are appreciative we got what we got this weekend.

· Those of you looking for more Fall-like weather i.e. cooler temps well we might see a pretty good drop-off starting Sunday the 26th and beyond.

· Gorgeous weather is locked in across much of the Northeast U.S. with cool chilly morning and highs near normal under an anti-cyclone or high pressure area.

· The guardian high center will keep Tropical Storm Julia spinning away to our south and an impressive weather system well to our west toward the center of the country at bay.

· Late in the day Saturday…showers and a risk for a few thunderstorms will track into Vermont.

· A cold frontal system will stall out with mainly cloudy-unsettled weather lingering into the early part of next week.

· Temperatures looking into next week neither warm nor cold, but weather system do appear to get more of Fall-like look as the jet stream rev’s up for quicker changes next week.

Updated Friday morning Forecast & WX Notes — September 9th, 2016

· One of the more sweltering muggy morning this summer will see improvement as dew point temperatures that are in the mid 60s to low 70s move out thankfully with a slow moving frontal system bringing a transition day to our region today.

· Sunshine will be on the increase but temps will still be topping out well above normal by about 10 degrees.

· The jet stream westerly’s are revving up and that means more changeable weather this weekend.

· The next system quickly moves in Saturday afternoon with a few showers as a warm front and then a cold front works through Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

· Another transition day to less humidity and a drying out Sunday-into the afternoon so expect ups and downs over the weekend.

· Best stretch of Weather coming is definitely Monday into Tuesday with a nice stretch of dry project weather, low humidity and comfortable.

· I’m off Monday through Thursday next week at the National Weather Association conference in Norfolk VA keeping up on the latest and there is a lot to keep up on now…

· One of the more humid and steamy stretches for later today and tonight’s are just ahead over the next 36 hours before refreshingly cooler less humid air moves in a northwesterly breeze Friday afternoon.

· The cool front will deliver scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3 or 4 PM lasting into a portion of this evening. Please practice lightning safety.

· A brief bubble of high pressure will bring nice weather much of Saturday until yet another frontal system moves in Saturday night and lingers into early Sunday. Then it’s a repeat with cooler less humid air Sunday afternoon and night

· A very brief shot of autumn like weather will be with us for Monday with mid 40s in some places Monday morning.

· Temperatures once again warm up and its gets humid toward middle part of next week, followed by drier conditions again.
