Updated Monday morning Forecast & WX Notes – January 2nd, 2017

· Pick of this week today Monday – temps make a nice climb in some decent sunshine into the mid and upper 30s today – enjoy it because some spotty freezing rain/rain showers roll in for the last part of the Tuesday’s morning commute – Heads Up!.

· Warm intrusion works in aloft with moisture on the increase weak and in pieces, so nothing widespread until Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

· A cold front lower temperatures considerably for Thursday and beyond. Friday might see some minor accumulating snows. But, overall weather pattern quieter late this week with weather systems but intrusion of arctic air (modified) heading into the weekend.

TODAY: Pick of the week. Partly to mostly sunny. A high in the mid to upper 30s. Light south winds.

TONIGHT: Fair this evening then thickening clouds overnight. A low near 30. Southeast winds 10 mph across the hills.

TUESDAY: Gray and breezy at times. Spotty light rain showers with possible slick travel in the morning. A high in the mid to upper 30s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Periods of rain likely…with a wintry mix developing over northern areas. Accumulations of up to an inch of sleet and wet slow. A low near 32.

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy and a little milder. A few sprinkles mixed with wet snow flakes later on. A high around 40.

THURSDAY: Morning clouds with scattered flurries, then partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon. Colder. A low in the mid teens. A high in the low to mid 20s.

FRIDAY: Cloudy with a chance for light snow. A low in the upper single digits. A high in the mid 20s.
