· Changeable weather today as a warm front has pushed into northern areas and opening up a dry slot where partly to sunny skies should be the rule for a good period of time, until a cold front pushes in the from the northwest late today and this evening.

· Our weather should set up nicely for a decent Wednesday being the pick of the week.

· More unsettled weather will move in late this week with a complex area of low pressure and better chances for rain and eventually some of the coldest air we’ve seen yet arriving Saturday and Sunday.

· There a possibility of a minor snow accumulations in the northern high terrain late this weekend and into early next week.

Monday morning Forecast & WX Notes — October 17th

Showers at night but some sunshine – sometimes decent amounts both today and Tuesday as several moving frontal systems will shift to and fro.

The warmest weather of this month arrives tomorrow Tuesday to spoil many of us. Mother nature has something else in mind next week with what looks like temperatures aloft and at surface being cold enough for at least trace for snow.

In-between we’ll pick up on our rainfall some. Also many of our beautiful leaves will be flying off the tress this week as we head for “stick season” in the next couple of weeks to come just before Halloween.

· We have some pretty good project weather ahead for this weekend with predominance of sunshine vs. clouds and dry weather today, tonight through mid day on Sunday.

· A cold front will swing in more clouds Sunday afternoon and showers will take-over then.

· A stretch of warmer than normal weather was in store but it will also feature lots of clouds and wetter conditions than it has been.

· This will bring several quick shots of rain/rain showers Monday into Wednesday next week.

· This will come at a time when a nice warming trend will lull us back into some September like weather though unsettled next week.

· Those wondering when there might be a more significant cool down and even a little snow – we may not have a very long wait. Colder conditions were taking place along with lots of snow cover now in western and northern Canada and this was greasing the skids for some changes to come around 22nd or next weekend.

· A cold front will track into Vermont later today with band of showers for about 4 hours worth of showers. We might see rainfall total of around third to about a half inch by mid evening tonight.

· The cold front means business with a good temperatures fall from today’s high of 60 to 65 to tomorrow reading in the low 50s – have your jacket, fleece, sweaters at the ready.

· Other than some ponding on roadways this afternoon no travel issues with just rainfall.

· High pressure builds into the region later tonight and forces a very chilly but sunny set up for Friday in fact very much like what occurred on Monday.

· Higher pressure will be with us over the weekend before the next cold front reaches our region later Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

· This system appears to be stalling and conditions were increasingly looking better to get some much needed soaking rainfall early next week.

· This precipitation is associated with an “Atmospheric River” where excessive rainfall was to unload in the Pacific NW. Jet stream energy will carry across the country and perhaps put a dent into our dry weather.

· Patchy high cloudiness this morning will eventually blow away allowing for decent amount of sunshine and slightly milder temps today.

· Benign cold front will push into the region Thursday Afternoon and evening triggering a round of much needed showers. We remain very dry and really could use more rain which we may get a little more again Sunday night and off and on next week but nothing truly heavy.

· Temperatures once again dip at their coldest Friday and Saturday morning for some frost, but then rise back into the 60s as soon as Sunday.

· Unsettled weather might be a player early to mid part of next week with several small but more potent packages of jet stream energy heading our way from the West coast.

· These weather systems will be welcome for their rainfall generation, but no travel issues anticipated thru the middle part of next week.
