Updated Thursday morning Forecast & WX Notes — October 27th, 2016

· Thickening cirrostratus and altostratus/altocumulus clouds will eventually become nimbostratus as precipitation both as rain drops and ice crystals (snow) to fall arriving later in the afternoon.

· With rain on valley floors, very limited travel issues unless you climb higher up which you may encounter slippery roads.

· Green Mountains ski resort summits today will get 3 to 6” possibly even more but it will be the wet snow variety like a combination of mashed potatoes which could once again take down tree limbs and arc many birch trees on the slopes.

· The storm system pushing east from the Ohio Valley will produce a second low pressure system over southern New England and will become the predominant low pressure area.

· For Vermont this will lock in relatively colder air keeping snow in the mountains going into Friday, which should be (Friday) in more showery forms but with rain showers on valley floors.

· This weekend is nothing to brag about with clouds predominating but a small warm up Saturday with yet more rain showers.

· Several pieces of jet stream energy will drive these on again – off again weather systems along with bouts of light precipitation.
