Pick of the Week today – warmth – but not too much, and without the deep humidity that will move in for tomorrow and the next few days over Memorial Day Weekend.
A warm frontal boundary will traverse in from the southwest overnight bringing deep tropical moisture northeastward overnight. This high octane air will be fuel for thunderstorms that grow out of the very warm and nearly hot air mass around locally. In fact some areas of Vermont especially in the southern valleys could hit 90 over the Memorial Day Weekend. Northern areas perhaps not quite as warm.
A capped atmosphere will be in play, complicating shower and thunderstorm areal coverage each afternoon and evening through this weekend. Also a backdoor cold front may introduce cooler air to the region via Maine and New Hampshire.
—-Please practice lighting safety, get out and recreate…but have a back door to slip into. When thunder roars – get indoors.
