Good Friday morning! We’ll expect to see more sun than we have over the last couple of days for this Easter weekend. There will be an annoying northwesterly wind that’ll be most gusty Saturday. Are we done with snow? No. Plan ahead for mid to late next week.

Interesting “cap clouds” on the mountain peaks show classic down-sloping flow. Low level moisture in the process working across Vermont from the southeast. Brief sunshine northwestern Vermont to be overtaken by cloud cover.

Potent low-pressure system north of the Great Lakes will track toward Vermont with marginal temperature profiles for frozen precipitation today, making limited amounts of valley floors, but more in the hills. Winter-like conditions follow for tomorrow with strong cold winds.

Upsloping orographic lifting mechanism to keep snowfall persistent along the western slopes of the Green Mountains eastern Champlain Valley. East of the Green Mountains, the down-slope component accelerates the gusty northwesterly winds with gusts nearing 50 mph at times.
