Updated Monday morning Forecast & Weather Notes — August 29th, 2016

· Transition day today after a band of showers and thunderstorms tracked across portions of northern Vermont and brought locally heavy rains in some locations there.

· 1.76” in Hyde Park, 2.90” at Caledonia County airport near Lyndonville were some of the heavier reports from thunderstorms yesterday evening.

· Transition Day today with cooler less humid air moving in highs in the 70s.

· Warmest weather day this week will come ahead of the next cold front on Wednesday…after a gorgeous and near perfect Tuesday with a bubble of higher pressure in control.

· A cool down in temperatures works in for late in the week, however nothing too extreme indicated more a reminder that yes by that time it will be September.

· Tropics are very active – Two Tropical Depressions that may affect North America one heading for Cape Hatteras which will then pull out to sea and another more ominous one forming in the Gulf of Mexico that may affect Fl. Panhandle in the few days…

TODAY: Partly sunny, cooler and turning less humid. A high in the low to mid 70s. Northwest breeze 10 to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Patchy valley fog. A low in the low to mid 50s. Little wind.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and a beauty. A high 75 to 80. Light southwest breeze.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Fair in the evening, then increasing clouds overnight. Chance for a shower far northern areas toward daybreak. More muggy with a low in the lower 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy and muggy. Chance for showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two. A high around 80.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny. A low in the mid 50s. A high in the low to mid 70s.

FRIDAY: Mixed clouds and sun. A low in the mid 50s. A high in the low 70s.
