Updated Friday Morning forecast & Weather Notes — Aug. 5th, 2016

· Shower and thunderstorms roll in ahead of an advancing frontal system overnight tonight, but will not affect what will be a warm to hot summer day today. Temperatures max out in the mid 80s to a few lower 90s.

· Expect boomers after midnight tonight and into the dark hours of early Saturday morning then push out of the region to periods of late morning and afternoon sunshine.

· A scattering of showers and thunderstorms may re-fire late in the day Saturday across the Northeast Kingdom and northern Green Mountains. If you are out of doors please be aware of potential lighting issues northern areas again late in the day.

· Sunday though not as summer-like in temperatures will actually be the better day this weekend. There will be a few isolated or widely scattered rain showers/sprinkles Sunday afternoon central to northern Green Mountains and Northeast Kingdom highlands.

· Two fantastic days will develop for Monday Tuesday. Next shower/thunderstorm issues arrive Wednesday.

· I will be taking next week off. This web site will not be updated until I get back. Enjoy what should be a pretty good week in Northern New England to take off.

TONIGHT: Fair this evening, then increasing clouds. Showers and thunderstorms overnight, some locally heavy. Rather sticky. A low 65 to 70. South winds 10 mph.

SATURDAY: Morning showers and thunderstorms, then increasing periods of sunshine. Widely scattered showers and late afternoon thunderstorms northern areas. Muggy. A high in the low 80s. West to northwest winds 10 to 20 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Widely scattered or isolated early evening showers and thunderstorms diminishing. Otherwise, then partly cloudy. A low 55 to 60.

SUNDAY: Partly to mostly sunny and breezy. Slight chance for a few afternoon showers northern areas. A high near 75.

MONDAY: Patchy fog burns off to mostly sunny skies. A low 50 to 55. A high in the near 80.

TUESDAY: Morning fog then mostly sunny and warmer. A low in the mid 50s. A high in the mid 80s.

WEDNESDAY: Sunshine after any morning fog then clouding up breezy and muggy. Chance for late day showers and thunderstorms. A low in the mid 60s. A high in the mid 80s.
